For reptiles and amphibians, Beaphar Mite Spray is a Vet strength, easy-to-use spray containing ivermectin that kills a wide range of ticks and mites, including snake mites, red mites and other subcutaneous mites. UK veterinary medicine marketed in accordance with Schedule 6 of the VMR.

Description
Beaphar Mite Spray is an effective, veterinary-strength medicine containing ivermectin that kills a wide range of ticks and mites, including snake mites, red mites and other subcutaneous mites, on reptiles and amphibians. Mite and tick infestations are extremely uncomfortable for reptiles and amphibians. The symptoms of mite infections include listlessness and decreased activity, a dull appearance and crusting of the scales. Beaphar Mite Spray is ideal for use at any times of year as a preventative measure or treat an active infestation. If you suspect your pet has a mite infestation, it is advisable to treat all pets in the vivarium at the same time with a suitable product. The vivarium should also be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with a product such as Beaphar Deep Clean Disinfectant Spray for Reptile and Amphibian Housing, then treated with a suitable insecticide. Suitable for reptiles and amphibians weighing more than 80g. IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE ON TURTLES, TORTOISES, INDIGO SNAKES OR SKINKS. NOT TO BE USED ON BREEDING ANIMALS.
Instructions
ALWAYS FULLY READ THE PRODUCT LEAFLET AND PACKAGING BEFORE USE. Wear gloves when applying. Weigh your reptile or amphibian carefully before application, and use the following table to calculate the correct dose. Reptiles and amphibians weighing 80–200g: 1 spray Reptiles and amphibians weighing 200–400g: 2 sprays Reptiles and amphibians weighing 400–600g: 3 sprays Reptiles and amphibians weighing 600–800g: 4 sprays Reptiles and amphibians weighing 800–1000g: 5 sprays 1. Remove drinking and swimming water before using Beaphar Mite Spray. 2. Ensure your pet is clean and dry. If your pet’s skin is dirty, clean before applying the spray 3. Working from back to front, spray your pet’s skin from a distance of 10–15cm, taking care to avoid the eyes, ears, nose, mouth and genitals. 4. Let the skin dry naturally. 5. Drinking and swimming water can be replaced one hour after treatment. For continuous protection, reapply Beaphar Mite Spray every four weeks. IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE ON TURTLES, TORTOISES, INDIGO SNAKES OR SKINKS. Remove drinking and swimming water before using this product (can be replaced after 1 hour). Do not combine with other antibacterial or anti-parasite products. Treat all animals kept together at the same time.

Do not use on sick or convalescent reptiles or amphibians. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Should accidental eye contact occur, rinse immediately with clean, fresh water and seek medical advice if irritation persists. Do not smoke, eat or drink while handling the product. Do not allow children to play with your reptile or amphibian until the skin is fully dry. Serious reactions, including deaths, have been reported in dogs (especially Collies, Old English Sheep Dogs and related breeds), tortoises and turtles treated with products containing the active ingredient. If signs of disease persist or appear, consult a veterinary surgeon. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water following treatment. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. For animal treatment only. Local irritation and hypersensitive reactions can arise if the spray touches the skin around the eyes. If skin irritation occurs discontinue the treatment. Do not use in combination with other medicines. If signs of disease persist or appear after use, consult your veterinary surgeon. |
