Beaphar CARE+® High Energy for Parrots and Cockatoos is an extremely palatable, complete, premium food which has been specially formulated for birds with a high metabolic rate such as macaws, palm cockatoos and golden parakeets. The pellets have a soft texture and are large (approximately 5mm in size), to ensure these birds can pick up the pellets and digest them with ease. The Beaphar CARE+® Bird Range uses a homogenous all-in-one formulation to ensure each food pellet contains the same composition and prevent selective feeding. This means no food is wasted and everything is eaten. The recipe is composed of over 97% organic ingredients and combines a highly nutritious blend of more than 20 different seeds, greens, vegetables, nuts, pulses and fruit. The food is cold pressed into pellets to ensure they retain their natural vitamins and minerals. Beaphar CARE+® High Energy for Parrots and Cockatoos provides a balanced ratio of carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals, and is perfectly adapted to meet your parrot or cockatoo’s high energy nutritional requirements. ALWAYS FULLY READ THE PRODUCT PACKAGING BEFORE USE. When changing your bird onto a new food it is important to do this gradually over several days. If your bird is already on an extruded or pelleted diet, over a few days mix some old food in with Beaphar CARE+® High Energy for Parrots and Cockatoos to give your bird time to adjust to the new food. Alternatively, if you are changing your bird from a seed-based diet to a pelleted diet, this should be done over several weeks to ensure your bird accepts the new food. If you are unsure how to do this then please follow the schedule for transition below as a guide. The daily amount of Beaphar CARE+® High Energy for Parrots and Cockatoos to give is dependent upon the size of the bird, their level of activity, their housing, the temperature and weather conditions. The below information is a guide, so you may need to adjust the feeding amounts to suit your bird's requirements. Using the measuring scoop provided, feed 4 scoops (40g) of Beaphar CARE+® High Energy for Parrots and Cockatoos per day. Regularly check your bird’s weight to ensure you are feeding enough. Beaphar CARE+® High Energy for Parrots and Cockatoos is a complete food. However, as a treat, some vegetables or fruit can be given in addition. Schedule for transition Week one: Feed approximately 25% of Beaphar CARE+® mixed with approximately 75% of their existing seed-based food. Week two: Feed approximately 50% of Beaphar CARE+® mixed with approximately 50% of their existing seed-based food. Week three: Feed approximately 75% of Beaphar CARE+® mixed with approximately 25% of their existing seed-based food. Week four: If your bird is happily eating Beaphar CARE+® then you can stop mixing their existing seed-based food in. For some birds you may need to continue the transition process for longer. Always have fresh drinking water available.
