Your bird needs food. In the wild, birds eat all sorts of seeds, fruits, vegetables and insects, depending on the type of bird. In your home, in a bird cage, your bird will usually only have access to what you choose to give him. This is often no more than a mix of seeds, which, on its own, does not contain sufficient nutrients to keep your bird healthy. In addition to the nutrients present in seeds, your bird needs minerals, vitamins and extra amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of any body. The mix of seeds you give to your bird contains many of the amino acids, but not all. Supplementary food, which contains all the vitamins, minerals and extra nutrition your bird needs, is available to solve this problem. Supplements can be combined with the normal seed mix, and will ensure your bird will have access to everything it needs.
