Just like cats or dogs, terrarium animals can suffer from parasites: internal parasites and external parasites. Both types can cause quite a problem for your animal and lead to serious diseases.

Always check your new animal for external parasites: these can often be spotted as (moving) black or red spots on the animal’s skin. Check both the animal and its living environment for any external parasites. They are a problem that requires attention and should not be ignored. Products to treat against parasites are available from your pet store; ask them for advice. Beaphar offers an insect spray to counter external parasite infections. Internal parasites should be controlled as well. Internal parasite infections may be due to worms or protozoa. Both infections are easily treated with products available from your veterinarian or pet shop.
